Archive jobs benefit from the resiliency and reliability of the Common Technology Engine (CTE) data mover architecture—giving you complete control as data is locked down, indexed and fully retrievable before it is removed from the source. Like all CommVault Exchange agents, data retains single instancing to eliminate redundant message copies in addition to offering you simple options to apply data compression and encryption for added protection.

You can use data encryption for new requirements such as protecting personal data. Locking your data over the network, across your tiered storage policies and on exported media for offsite vaulting is as simple as adjusting your policy. No third party tools needed.

DataArchiver also offers an embedded content indexing service that allows you to create a full-text search facility for messages, attachments or files. Administrators, like you, can selectively use this feature down to a policy/job level. When a content index is present for a data set—your users can engage the advanced search options to conduct more targeted Boolean searches against properties recipients, subject, attachments, dates, contents with keywords, exact phrases, and exclusions qualifiers. Depending on the rights of that user, they may extend the search to a cross-mailbox or cross-policy basis. Content Indexing is directly embedded into the CommVault Common Technology Engine architecture relieving you of integration or external management tasks.
