This
diagram depicts IPStor configured in an active-active
pair, with tape libraries installed on each IPStor
server. By
installing third party backup software on the IPStor
server and utilizing the Zero-Impact backup enabling
option, backup speeds of 108GB/hr
are possible (based on tests performed in FalconStor’s
lab utilizing a single LTO drive).
Since
no backup software is needed on any application
servers, there is a considerable savings on software
licensing fees.
Centralized management also reduces administrative
costs.
