THIRD GENERATION
The Third Generation Tandberg SLR tape drives are designed
to deliver on the increased demands of the removable storage
market in terms of capacity, transfer rate, scalability and
use of existing media now and in the future. The ideal entry-level
product is the SLR7 with a capacity of 20/40*GByte and a transfer
rate up to 21.6 GByte per hour (6*MByte/sec). The SLR7 is
the best appropriate solution for entry level servers providing
outstanding price/ performance as well as the ability to easily
upgrade to higher capacity SLR drives in the future.
Tandberg SLR140 represents the flagship of the SLR product
family offering a capacity of 140*GByte storage capacity and
a transfer rate of 43.2 GByte per hour (12* MByte/sec) delivers
equal capacity and performance features of a midrange streamer
at an extremely attactive price. Backward compatibility and
the possibility to migrate to the SLR140 Autoloader provides
the user investment protection and a fast return on investment.
Tandberg SLR140, SLR100, SLR75,and SLR7 are based on a new
hardware platform design using a more robust mechanics, new
mainboard, a new more efficient recording and decoding method,
and an improved read/write head. Coupled with the highly professional
Metal Particle (MP+) magnetic media cartridge from Imation,
SLR technology provides quality, reliability and security
for mission critical data. |
